JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the cross-functional Leadership Team, the Value Stream Leader is responsible for the direct supervision of employees and production activities on their respective shift while maintaining company specific goals pertaining to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost in an ISO quality system regulated environment. The Value Stream Leader at Accu-Tube works with Engineering to plan and manufacture Engineering Samples and to introduce new products into production.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

· Acts as the immediate supervisor to 25 or more production employees and 2 production Team Leaders on their respective shift.

· Maintains POSITIVE and PRODUCTIVE working relationships with colleagues at all levels of the organization.

· Ensures production targets pertaining to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) are being met on the production floor.

· Facilitate root cause analysis and corrective action discussions targeting top SQDC issues impacting the production floor.

· Uses metrics on a daily and weekly basis to measure performance and correct / adjust work behavior on the production floor.

· Communicates issues arising on the production floor which prevents achieving SQDC goals.

· Works closely with Production Planning and/or Scheduling functions and Customer Ops to determine priorities in the production areas. Utilizes planning information to address short-, medium-, and longer-term needs with respect to hires and skills needed.

· Determines the appropriate personnel assignments to meet production needs.

· Develop and execute a site-wide cross training plan to ensure 3 deep coverage on all critical processes.

· Reviews and updates SQDC boards throughout the shift, where applicable.

· Works in ERP system to create, distribute, and allocate materials to work orders in the production areas.

· LEADS the performance review process for production employees at company specified intervals.

· Works with Purchasing to ensure correct inventory levels of Kanban items on the Production Floor.

· Participates in planning, forecasting of budgets and timelines to assure projects are accurately completed to schedule.

· Coordinates with Manufacturing Engineering to develop concepts and processes for new products.

· In Partnership with Engineering, analyzes data from first run(s) of new products for opportunities to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs, and to reduce waste.

· May support daily operational and engineering activities providing guidance and support in troubleshooting key issues as they arise, especially for new products.

· Researches and identifies opportunities to improve safety.

· Supports and contributes to safety programs, policies, and initiatives.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

· High school diploma or GED equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills; English fluent required, Bilingual Spanish preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS/CHARACTERISTICS

· ERP systems/fundamentals knowledge and understanding.

· Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite

· Demonstrable experience in fundamental lean tools and concepts (VSM, 5S, Std Work, Continuous Flow)

· 3 years leading and managing manufacturing departments required.

· 3 years working in a high product mix, make to order environment preferred.

· 2 years working in a production environment with metal fabrication / machining operations.

· Possess strong analytical problem-solving skills (8 Step RCCM, 8D, DMAIC, etc.)

· Experience tracking daily performance via hour-by-hour boards and cell level metric boards.

· Strong leadership competencies and ability to lead, mentor and coach production employees.

· Communicates production and technical issues to management.

· Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the organization.

· Ability to quickly react to changes in a fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Indoor production environment, duties performed indoors, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures.

· Personal protective equipment including safety glasses and gloves may be required in many areas associated with this position.

· Works production schedule for assigned shift; periodically may require coverage on alternate shifts as business needs require.

· Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolyte, and other hazardous materials. Exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

· Frequently positions self to move an item <25 lbs; Occasionally, 25-50 lbs

· Regularly operates a pallet jack and powered industrial equipment.

· Regularly move about the production floor and office area

· Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc.

· Standing for extended periods

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
