Position Requirements

• Experience leading design efforts from discovery to delivery, with a demonstrated ability to think through end-to-end solutions and a strongly user-centered process.
• Ability to complete moderate assignments with guidance as needed.
• Ability to work autonomously but know when to ask for help.
• Design holistic flows in addition to individual screens.
• Learn the technical system and work around constraints with engineers.
• Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team and engage constructively with stakeholders.
• Experience contributing to design systems and component libraries that go beyond static style guides.
• Basic understanding of usability and accessibility guidelines and best practices.
• You're able and unafraid to take ownership and risks, to convince others to come along, and to identify and learn from your mistakes.
• Bonus points for familiarity of UI design tools like Figma and Figjam.
• A design portfolio showcasing examples of shipped product, or the ability to show case studies of the same.
• Some travel may be required.

Education/Years of Experience:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of hands-on product or UX design experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a geographically distributed, cross-functional team, other members of the Engineering organization, and others at Sunstate to deliver effective design for projects large and small.
• Collaborate with and work with Senior UX designer to support the needs of the various modules, applications and products being developed.
• Develop a deep understanding of our business, technical constraints, market demands, opportunities, and the needs of our co-workers and external customers.
• Take initiative and produce design artifacts that move your team forward at any project stage: concepts, sketches, maps, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups, production assets, and more.
• Evangelize the benefits and outcomes of user-focused design and research to other teams, collaborators, and stakeholders.
