Location: Foster City, CA (Onsite 3 days/week minimum)
Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Machine Learning Expert to join our data science team within the PDM (Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing) organization. We want a passionate team player who is about machine learning and is updated with the algorithms and technology in this field.
The candidate will be involved in all processes from data collection, cleansing, pre-processing, creating training models, testing models, evaluating and interpreting models, fine-tuning models, making predictions, sharing insights.
Responsibilities
- Understand business objectives and develop machine learning models that help to achieve them, along with metrics to track the progress
- Analyze various machine learning algorithms that could be used to solve a given problem and rank them by their success probability
- Explore and visualize the data to gain an understanding of it, then identify differences in data distribution that could affect performance when deploying the model in the real world
- Perform data mining and extract useful data from various data sources
- Define data pre-processing and feature engineering to be done on a given dataset, including both structured and unstructured data
- Define data augmentation pipeline
- Analyze large amount of data to find patterns, insights and solutions
- Develop machine learning models to select features, create and optimize classifiers
- Develop machine learning models to provide predictive capabilities
- Analyze the errors of the model and design strategies to overcome them
- Collaborate with other data scientists and software developers to deploy and operationalize machine learning models
- Present results within data science team and with business stakeholders
- Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and methodologies
- 5 years' hands-on experience building machine learning models
- Solid coding skills in Python
- Strong proficiency with Python and basic libraries for machine learning such as scikit-learn
- Strong proficiency with a deep learning framework such as TensorFlow or Keras
- Expertise in visualizing and manipulating big datasets
- Collaboration experiences with Software Engineers
- Experience working in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus
- Working experiences in Pharma industry
- Working experiences in a matrix organization
- Research publications in machine learning
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
