Research Audiologist

Department:

Medicine | Otolaryngology

Audiologist to provide full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services for research study subjects in the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery; conducts basic and comprehensive audiological assessments, evaluation and fitting of basic and computerized hearing systems, and cochlear implant systems; collaborates with principal investigator(PI) about audiologic manifestations of ear disease; conducts physiologic, electrophysiologic and behavioral assessments of auditory sensitivity for study subjects; serves as expert in acoustic, electroacoustic and physical characteristics of amplification systems in geriatric, pediatric and difficult to test populations, including developmentally disabled and inmates; supervises and participates in consultation with study subjects, administration of diagnostic testing and development of treatment and therapy programs in conjunction with PI; evaluates and assists in determination of candidacy for cochlear implantation; provides interoperative testing of internal cochlear implant devices; serves as expert in programming and fitting external cochlear implant speech-processing devices and performing aural rehabilitation; performs independent research; assists with manuscript preparation; actively participates in training and education of residents, fellows, medical students and audiology students.
