Rate:
$20.90 - $26.75

Overview:

The Mail Room Clerk I performs routine daily, weekly and monthly activities related to the CSAC Mailroom. This position reports directly to the Mail Room Supervisor. The Mail Room Clerk I is a full-time, non-exempt position, with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. The job duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Position Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Receive, track, sort and deliver mail and packages as designated.
  • Operate mass production copiers, standard copiers, industrial paper shredders, postage scales, postage meters, and collation equipment.
  • Ensure that required project request forms are complete and approved before beginning a project.
  • Maintain and update Mailroom shared folder in a clear and organized manner. Add project documents (requisition, data file, approved sample, final proofs of mailing contents, etc.) so anyone needing this information can easily find it.
  • Perform all aspects of the address cleansing procedures.
  • Assist with delivery of weekly office and coffee supply requests.
  • Perform routine activities related to CSAC’s General Services Department.
  • Process shipping forms and post shipping labels for outgoing packages.
  • Prepare UPS and Pitney Bowes documentation to support invoices.
  • Assist in assembly and mailing of First Time Eligible packets.
  • Assist Executive Administration with preparing quarterly trustee meeting books.
  • Assist in preparing reports for accounting for the postage meters.
  • Maintain required operation and inventory logs for all equipment and supplies used.
  • Support periodic inventory count of stationery and paper supplies.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1-year related experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to multi-task and work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines.
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional phone etiquette, customer service skills, appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to stand or sit throughout a regular workday.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.
  • Organized, detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • High School Diploma.
Work Environment/ Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.
  • Ability to lift 10-30 pounds when necessary.
