Description
Imagine Children's Museum is seeking a seasoned and enthusiastic fundraiser. The Fundraising Manager is responsible for securing fundraising event sponsorships, soliciting in-kind donations for auctions, and identifying, cultivating, and stewarding donors. Fundraising event management, from planning to execution, data management and post-event follow-up, is part of the Fundraising Manager's responsibilities. Working closely with the Board's Fundraising Breakfast Committee and Committee Co-Chairs, the position requires making cold and warm solicitation calls and will be responsible for building good relationships with prospective donors and clients across multiple sectors and communicating with the public and internal teams. Suitable candidates will be detail-oriented, proactive and inspirational. We're looking for someone who believes in the mission of Imagine and has an exceptional drive for furthering our fundraising efforts as well as strategizing and delivering on new ones.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Fundraising and Donor Communications
  • Effectively convey the organization's mission, vision, and programs to potential donors.
  • Develop a 12-month plan to identify, cultivate and steward donors.
  • Achieve annual fundraising goals by routinely soliciting gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations.
  • Secure four- and five-digit fundraising event sponsorships to meet annual sponsorship goal.
  • Secure in-kind donations for our auction to meet annual auction goal.
  • Make personal calls and send cold emails to prospective donors.
  • Provide weekly dashboard reports to CIO of fundraising progress against annual goals.
  • Proactive problem solving.
Board, Committee and Volunteer Engagement
  • In consultation with the CEO and CIO, support volunteers from the Board, the Fundraising Breakfast Committee and the Committee Co-Chairs as partners in donor research and solicitation.
  • Play an active role in the Fundraising Breakfast Committee, supporting the Co-Chairs to prepare agendas, disseminate information and action steps, and follow up with individual Committee members and table captains.
  • Communicate regularly with Committee Co-Chairs, Committee members and event table captains by phone, text and email.
  • Create high-quality written materials to distribute to Board, Co-Chairs, Committee and table captains.
Event Management
  • Be responsible for each event's success.
  • Coordinate, communicate and collaborate with staff from all Museum departments.
  • Be at ease simultaneously managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks across multiple timelines and related communication with various stakeholders.
  • Develop and share event timelines.
  • Manage invitation, RSVP and ticketing process and changes.
  • Develop and manage table assignments and changes.
  • Provide progress reports throughout the event planning process.
  • Manage and coordinate event vendors.
  • Coordinate across Museum departments to successfully implement event A/V plans.
  • Be responsible for all event logistics, set up and clean up.
  • Recruit, screen, train and provide oversight of event volunteers.
Administration
  • Daily data entry and filing.
  • Maintain records, files, and databases with meticulous accuracy.
  • Produce regular spreadsheets and database reports to measure and analyze results.
  • Document of gifts.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Position Requirements
  • Enthusiastic, expert knowledge of fundraising combined with demonstrated track record of meeting annual fundraising goals.
  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office computer suite skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in fundraising databases is strongly preferred.
  • Self-directed project management skills. Efficient and detail oriented. Demonstrated skills for multi-tasking.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communications skills. Ability to speak in front of groups and convey information effectively. Personable, with ability to positively motivate others.
  • Enjoys working independently and as part of a team.
  • Handles confidential information in an appropriately professional and respectful manner.
  • Strives for the highest levels of customer service.
  • Problem solving skills including the ability to identify problems and find solutions.

Education and/or Experience
  • 3-5 years of successful fundraising experience, with experience in fundraising event management a plus.
  • Proven track record of successful fundraising, including meeting event goals and annual goals.
  • Sound knowledge of the community.
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in communications, business, public relations, or related field.
  • Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising is preferred.
  • Proficiency in donor management systems.
Supervisory Responsibility
May supervise volunteers, as needed.

  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard daily.
  • Speak and hear sufficiently to communicate clearly in person, over the telephone, and in small groups.
  • Mental stamina for problem solving and dealing with stressful situations; prioritizing multiple tasks; interpreting and applying oral/written instructions.
  • No ongoing and consistent extraordinary physical effort or strain involved in this position.
Pay: $29-$31 per hour based on experience
