**ABOUT THE POSITION**

Reporting directly to the Director of NA Merchandising, the Product Merchandiser will be responsible for driving footwear assortment direction, category vision and marketplace strategies that align with Sorels overall growth initiatives. As a leader on the merchandising team, the Product Merchandiser utilizes an in-depth understanding the consumer and marketplace to be a key influencer in shaping the seasonal product offering, from concept to launch.

**HOW YOULL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**

* Drives footwear assortment strategies and influences product direction by leading with a consumer-centric approach that both enhances brand initiatives and facilitates meeting financial targets

* Partners with cross-functional leaders, to include collaborating with Sales, Product, and Marketing to ensure alignment on category strategies and priorities

* Optimizes opportunities by being the driving voice for regional needs at all go-to-market touchpoints, with special emphasis on line reviews

* Leads /executes segmentation and differentiation across multiple channels, and identifies new segmentation opportunities

* Provides insight and analysis on consumer trends, retail landscape dynamics, and any other relevant influencers that affect consumer decisions

* Attend key account meetings, trade shows, and market visits. Capturing and presenting retailer feedback to be shared with relevant partners.

**YOU ARE**

* Persuasive communicator with finely honed negotiation and influencing skills; awareness of the needs of the consumer

* A self-starter who brings a level of passion, enthusiasm, and focus to their business and can guide partners with a positive and entrepreneurial approach

* Able to lead, manage and influence in a matrixed environment; drive alignment between product, sales, and marketing

**YOU HAVE**

* 3-5 years of related experience (retail, product line management, merchandising, buying, product development & design)

* Ability to analyze and translate trends and market information to inform category and product positioning, distill and prioritize business opportunities to make effective decisions

* Strong business acumen continuously evaluates competitors and the marketplace to creatively capitalize on market opportunities

* Experience designing and delivering compelling presentations for small and large audiences

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Organizational skills with experience managing complex projects, critical paths/ timelines
