Salary:

Position title: Junior Financial Accountant 

Status: Exempt (US only)

Department: Finance 

Reports to: Manager Finance

Location: Global scope - Position may be located at any Emsere office

Prepared by: Human Resources

Position Summary

The Financial Accountant is a member of the global Finance team, ensuring accurate, reliable and up-to-date accounting for all global entities on a daily basis. The Financial Accountant works in close cooperation within the Finance team, communicating with colleagues and occasionally with third parties. Financial tasks and responsibilities are shared and controlled within the Finance team by rotation, where every team member is a back-up.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Ensures daily execution/ processing of:

  • Sales invoicing.
  • Accounts Payable (AP) invoice recording.
  • Matching payments.
  • Payment of online orders.
  • General administration tasks.

Periodical preparation and/ or execution of:

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) status/follow-up/reconciliations.
  • Batch payments.
  • Cash balance overview.
  • AP status/ follow-up/reconciliations.
  • Asset transaction management.
  • Balanced intercompany accounts.
  • Accruals/monthly closing postings.
  • General ledger account analysis and maintenance.

Communication:

  • Manage central Finance mailbox and incoming direct calls on a daily basis.
  • Discuss daily execution/ processing with global Finance colleagues.
  • Daily contact with global colleagues of Project Management, Procurement, Operations.
  • Occasional communication with third parties (e.g., debtors, bank, suppliers).

Maintains Quality Service and Departmental Standards by:

  • Reading, understanding and adhering to company procedures, policies and standard operating procedures (“SOP’s”).
  • Maintain current knowledge of new trends and innovations in the field of accounting: evaluate their impact, and suggest policy and procedure improvements.
  • Ensuring compliance to applicable safety and security standards, procedures and policies.

Contributes to team effort by:

  • Exploring new opportunities to add value to organization and departmental processes.
  • Helping others to accomplish results.
  • Performing other duties as assigned and deemed necessary.

Qualifications & Education:

  • Relevant financial MBO (Intermediate Vocational Education) degree.

Experience and Additional Skills:

  • All-round accountant, self-starter, works independently, team player.
  • Experienced working with Finance ERP and computer software including MS office applications, advanced knowledge of MS Excel (Formulas, Pivots).
  • Experience with NL GAAP is desired.
  • Strong written and verbal skills in English and the local language.
  • Accurate, reliable and punctual with excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
  • Training and understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
