General Description: 

Entry level engineer with semiconductor layout/design/fabrication/device background. Primary responsibility is custom physical design or layout work using Cadence layout tools for novel R&D technologies at lower maturity levels; e.g. GaN, Quantum etc. Need to understand/pick up various wafer fabrication and device operation aspects to intelligently layout and assemble design blocks that are later patterned on wafers processed in our world class research and semiconductor fabrication facility. 

Essential Duties:

•Physical layout and reticle assembly for custom CAD

•Conduct reviews with status presentations at different phases of work

•Release layouts to initiate wafer fabrication

•Maintain/edit codes for DRC and automation purposes

•Documentation and tracking 

•Communicate and co-ordinate both within and multi-disciplinary outside teams

•Work in both Linux and Windows environments

•Support Photo Mask procurement activities

•Timely delivery of quality work

Required Skills: 

•Microsoft Office tools – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

•Good communication skills (both verbal and written) with customer service focus

•Attention to details and ability to stay focused for detail-oriented work

•Ability to work on a computer for extended periods

•Familiarity with Linux environment desired

•Experience with any semiconductor design/layout tool desired

•Familiarity with Cadence Virtuoso layout tools highly desired

Required Education: 

Bachelor’s degree with a major in a science/engineering field.

Special Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this full-time position is $76,530 - $93,320 bonus benefits.
