Baptist Health is Hiring a Critical Care Nurse Manager Near Elizabethtown, KY

Job Description:
Manage the daily operations of the nursing unit(s)/department(s). Responsibilities include management of resources, process improvement activities to include establishing, implementing and monitoring hospital wide protocols/processes for the care of stroke patients, staffing and scheduling, and assuring delivery of safe, effective, timely patient care in areas of responsibility. Monitors financial performance of department(s) and assures expenses and productivity align with workload and meets fiscal targets. Leads departmental activities and monitors care provided to comply with quality and customer service goals. Assure good two-way communication with staff. Lead/participate in multidisciplinary and interdepartmental initiatives to improve care, services, and efficiencies. May assist with patient care on nursing unit as needed. Serves as House Manager in rotational coverage for holidays, PTO and times of unexpected need as requested. New managers assume house coverage duties after six months of designated unit orientation unless the employee has prior house coverage experience.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Kentucky required.
  • Bachelor of Science in nursing or related area with three years recent clinical and three years management experience at the charge nurse level or above required, or higher.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and/or Access required.
  • Competence in professional nursing practice including teaching, leadership and management skills required.
  • Good clinical, organizational, customer service and critical thinking skills are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Three or more years of experience as manager preferred.
  • Recent experience in specialty preferred.
