NE Property Management is Hiring a Chief Building Engineer Near Plano, TX

LVL29 is seeking a highly experienced, professional Chief Building Engineer for a beautiful and luxurious high-rise in Plano, Texas. Previous experience working in a residential high-rise tower is strongly preferred.

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

  • Maintains and observes all safety standards, and participates in the Company’s efforts to provide a safe work environment. Maintain good resident relations through prompt and courteous response to work orders. Assess repair needs, estimated time required, assess the possibility for additional service and/or maintenance contractors, and procure bids. Oversees and/or participates in any construction and installation. Maintains ethical, professional, and courteous relations with contractors. Assists with building inspections.
  • Performs general, preventive, and routine maintenance and operation of all building equipment, including mechanical, electrical, fire, security, HVAC, plumbing, lighting, pool, and building automation systems, etc.
  • Monitors systems for potential or existing problems and formulates solutions to present to the Regional Service Director for appropriate action.
  • Inspects machinery and building, including rooftops. Inspects and is aware of the property’s condition and correct, maintain, and/or repair any unsafe areas.
  • Completes all maintenance in a safe manner. Identifies, formulates, recommends, and implements best practices to improve the facilities’ operations and reports those recommendations to the Regional Service Director.
  • Emergency Response Duties – maintains disaster preparedness by identifying potential problems, developing response plans, and managing crises.
  • Acts as a team member with all employees of the management staff, and supervising the maintenance and housekeeping staff.
  • Purchases and keeps an inventory of parts, materials, tools, and supplies required for performing repairs as directed by the Regional Service Director.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, read, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use stairs; climb ladders; get on hands and knees; use hands and fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Capable of utilizing scissor or boom lifts.

Essential Knowledge AND Skills:

  • Reads and understands equipment instruction manuals.
  • Communicates essential information needed for decision-making.
  • Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
  • Understands basic building system design and operation, i.e., fire system, water system, HVAC system, plumbing and electrical distribution system.
  • Identifies and resolves mechanical problems.
  • Detail oriented and well organized, with ability to plan projects, activities and schedule several months in advance.
  • Provide excellent customer service and team support. Dedicated to punctuality, reliability, friendliness and helpfulness.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate.

Education/Experience/Requirements:

  • Proficiency in one trade area preferred i.e. HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, electric
  • Three years of experience in a managerial role for a high-rise building.
