Summary
The Building Performance Analyst is responsible for the completion of energy modeling and load calculation deliverables for engineering projects. This role requires a high attention to technical detail and the ability to document, organize, and communicate extensive technical documentation.
General Responsibilities
· Develop whole building energy models using industry tools such as IES Virtual Environment, OpenStudio, EnergyPlus, eQUEST, etc.
· Perform load calculations and energy modeling for projects requiring them.
· Provide technical expertise, support, and analysis for meeting energy and sustainability requirements and objectives of projects.
· Provide guidance in conceptual energy design and propose energy efficient alternatives to design teams.
· Use whole building simulation and analysis tools as per LEED, utilities, and state or local code requirements.
· Coordinate and manage multiple projects, deadlines, clients, and project types.
· Analyze and recommend cost effective energy and sustainability options for building projects.
· Prepare and review LEED submissions and energy code compliance documentation.
· Assist in engineering calculations and details required for project delivery.
· Participate in-house activities, including internal education, preparation of case studies, improving modeling workflows, new technologies and trends, etc.
· Prepare reports and prepare and give presentations to project teams and stakeholders.
· Coordinate and manage multiple projects, deadlines, clients, and project types.
· Support Säzän’s commitment to and tracking progress towards meeting the MEP 2040 Commitment.
Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science Degree in a related discipline, equivalent technical school training, or equivalent work experience.
· Technical/Professional experience with 3 to 5 years of energy modeling experience in a professional engineering environment.
· Demonstration of verbal and written organizational and communication skills.
· Ability to use at least one of the following energy modeling software packages (i.e. IES Virtual Environment, OpenStudio, EnergyPlus, eQUEST, etc.)
· Ability to work on multiple projects and/or in multiple project phases simultaneously.
Physical Requirements
The employee will likely be required to sit at a desk and look at computer monitors for much of the day.
