Position: DRIVER - DISPATCHER

Location: 5050 Wesley Rd Apopka, FL 32712

Shift: Overnight on Sat/Sun and 3 other days through the week with various start times.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

• The Driver - Dispatcher will be cross-trained to perform multiple functions, including those of the Dispatcher
• Courier Logistics, Driver Courier Logistics and the Driver Warehouse positions.
• This position requires the exercise of independent judgment. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

High school graduate or equivalent

Previous courier experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

A valid Florida commercial driver license, Class B, and driving record in accordance with Florida Hospital policy.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED:

Valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Demonstrates, through behaviour, Florida Hospital’s core values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship, and Teamwork
• Uses functions of computer system, bar code readers, fax machine, copier and scanner.
• Safely transports biological specimens and related paperwork, equipment, supplies, reports and similar items according to department expectations and as scheduled. Responsibilities also to include all principal duties and responsibilities outlined in the Driver- Courier Logistics job description.
• Coordinates routine and STAT lab and non-lab pickups. Educates customer on various shipping services. Monitors drivers for punctuality and responsiveness. Responsibilities also to include all principal duties and responsibilities outlined in the Dispatcher- Courier Logistics job description.
• Safely drives 24 ft vans and commercial trucks, utilizing knowledge of the Orlando area and roads for efficient operation of the vehicles and delivery of the supplies. Responsibilities also to include all principal duties and responsibilities outlined in the Driver - Warehouse job description.
• Meets with Supervisor, Manager and Director as scheduled. Notifies Supervisor of any traffic tickets or accidents immediately. Communicates any discrepancies or irregularities to management. Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines, referring issues appropriately to administrative staff for follow-up
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure smooth operation of the department.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $19.47 - $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekends only
