Hope and Healing Clinic is seeking a Mobile Unit Driver who is eager to support the launch of their new clinic located in Tumwater, WA.

The Mobile Unit Driver will provide driver services to the Clinic to include setup, breakdown, minor maintenance, and the coordination of maintenance/repair activities. Drives Mobile Health Clinics to various corporate and/or community sites and assures that safety remains the highest priority for team members and patients. Deter, detect, and investigate crime and/or any suspicious activity, which could cause harm to individuals or property. Provides information and assistance to patients, employees, and visitors. Writes detailed incident reports, and various other reports as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a secure environment at the front line of service to protect people, information, and property. Proactively identifies and resolves potentially harmful, dangerous, or unsafe situations or risks.
  • Provides security services with professionalism, fairness, and compassion in challenging circumstances and in accordance with policies, procedures, and training.
  • Inspires confidence in patients, visitors, and team members by presenting a professional, approachable, and service-oriented appearance and demeanor.
  • Operates vehicle in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner while driving to various corporate and community sites.
  • Provides simple maintenance and coordinates maintenance/repairs to the mobile. Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies. Responsible for reporting medical equipment failures and taking initial steps to ensure repair of equipment as directed.
  • Inspects the mobile unit and maintains it in a clean, orderly and safe condition - including wheelchair lift.
  • Verifies operational readiness of vehicle and equipment while maintaining cleanliness.
  • Ensures vehicle compliance with local and state regulating entities.
  • Is alert, observant, and ethical. Complies with and enforces all safety and security rules and regulations.
  • Performs routine responsibilities during interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety and security, including but not limited to:
  • Inspections to identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire conditions, patient valuables management, and thorough contraband searches.
  • Assists team members, patients, and visitors by providing information, directions, and physical help.
  • Ensures traffic control, monitors conduct of visitors, and confronts unauthorized persons for questioning.
  • Completes vehicle documentation as required.
  • Prevents, responds to, and investigates workplace violence. Responds to service calls, such as combative or threatening patients or visitors and team member incidents. Serves as a primary resource for de-escalation.
  • Performs key responsibilities to plan, prevent, practice, and respond to emergencies such as fire and active threats. Responds immediately to emergency and crisis situations; physically intervenes in accordance with training to situations that have a potential for injury.
  • Investigates incidents that occur onsite at mobile clinic and completes timely and accurate reports. Addresses and escalates complaints to the appropriate leader and provides supporting documentation.
  • Performs liaison rounding duties to cultivate close partnerships with all departments and units. Delivers security awareness education to team members to leverage their assistance in the overall security of the site.
  • Liaisons with state and local law enforcement and first responder agencies.
  • May serve as a precept for newly hired officers, providing feedback and assisting in maintaining competencies for all officers/drivers.
  • Maintains current department training standards in radio communications, verbal de-escalation, stabilization, CPR, application of critical restraints, etc.

Position Requirements

Education/Experience:

  • Associate's or Vocational degree in security, law enforcement, or criminal justice field required.
    • With a degree completed: a minimum of 2 years experience as a Security Officer, Law Enforcement and/or Military Service preferred.
    • In lieu of degree: the program will also accept 4 years experience in security, law enforcement, military police or related field.
  • Must have a clean (DMV) driving record with no violations in the past 3 years.
  • Opioid Treatment Program experience will be given hiring preference.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift from the floor to overhead levels and carry items at waist level weight up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Requires the ability to stoop, bend, reach, crouch, and squat.
  • Requires full body range of motion including ability to reach from floor to overhead levels, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Must be able to enter data into the computer.
  • Must be flexible and able to work a variety of hours as needed.
  • Must be willing to work in multiple clinic settings, possibly indoors and out, which may require exposure to some communicable disease and a variety of weather conditions.
  • During inclement weather, all staff must report to work to assist patients and staff to and from the mobile clinic.
  • Requires the ability to perform several tasks simultaneously and to organize and analyze situations and schedules.
  • Must be able to operate patient lifting equipment and patient handling devices accurately and safely under the direction of the patient care staff.

Additional

  • The nature of this position is fast-paced in high-stress situations and conditions.
  • Work closely with the VP of Operations, Clinic Administrator, Medical Director, Dispensary Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, and various stakeholders.
  • Computer literate, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and electronic medical records systems, as well as a high level of initiative in keeping current with technological change.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patients, and outside contacts from a wide variety of ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds; good diplomatic skills, including strong conflict-resolution skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Conducts all business activities in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Experience working in or with federal, state, and/or local government administrations preferred.
  • No history of alcohol or other drug misuse for 3 years prior to employment and does not display evidence of alcohol or other drugs while employed.
  • Complies with and is up to date with all other testing, screening and credentialing as required.
  • May require some travel.
