The goal of this Data Engineer internship is to provide opportunities for students to gain real world experience in the Manufacturing and Food Innovation industry and to help students develop professionally in a progressive manner with an increasing amount of responsibility.
The Data Engineer Intern role will work to onboard, integrate and deliver data. You'll start work on a greenfield data project to deliver and integrate multiple data sources for a growing business. Learn on the Azure platform and help us start an industry leading data program! This is a paid internship.
Responsibilities:

• This internship will utilize the Microsoft data platform - Data Factory, PowerAutomate, PowerFlow, Cloud SQL Server.
• Creates, designs, and maintains datasets for analysis and consumption by applications.
• Converts the business requirements into detailed designs, partnering with Business Analysts, business stakeholders.
• Copiously comments work and code to ensure maintenance.
• Participates in code development that defines the business logic.
• Utilizes advanced source control features and provides input on strategy for the team.
• Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Other fun projects as assigned.

Requirements

• School work leveraging ETL tools to load a data warehouse or create a data store.
• School usage of Git and GitHub or comparable distributed version control system.
• School usage with Amazon or Microsoft Data Platform.
• Classes in Dimensional, Entity-Relationship, OLAP data modeling.
• Experience writing stored procedure, views, and functions.
• Passion for using technology and data to solve business problems.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with Power BI

Education:

• Working towards undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Software Engineering.
• Coding "Bootcamp" graduates also considered.
