Overview:

Emerald is seeking a Partnership Specialist to manage and drive profitable partnerships with associations, industry insiders, events, publishers, and other trade organizations for MJBiz, the leading cannabis industry news and event resource, connecting cannabis industry executives, entrepreneurs, brands, manufacturers, and investors.

The Partnership Specialist is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for 200 partners, ranging from barter agreements to unique alliances, as well as marketing projects as needed. This role will be inclusive of five areas: Partnership Research and Outreach; Inbound Management; Concept Development; Execution, Recordkeeping and Measurement; and Strategic Planning. As the primary point of contact for high level industry leaders, this role will also be responsible for collecting feedback from our core audience and working closely with the both the Attendee Acquisition & Partnership Director and the SVP to shape future partnership offerings and opportunities.

Reporting directly to the Attendee Acquisition & Partnership Director, the ideal candidate will have proven experience managing multiple tasks in a highly organized manner, effectively communicating across departments and shareholders alike, and execution of set strategy.

This position can be performed from any of our US-based offices or remotely from anywhere within the US.

Responsibilities:
  • Optimize Current Relationships:?Work with Attendee Acquisition & Partnership Director and MJBiz team to manage current relationships optimizing what works, what doesnt and how to maximize efforts for both brand and partner.
  • Research Industry Opportunities:?Research and identify potential opportunities that are worth pursuing, including a consistent review of inbound requests
  • Project Management: ?Oversee contract process and execution in conjunction with Director, including setting terms, educating partners on value and terms offered, creating written agreements, and obtaining signatures
  • Analyze & Track Measurements: Maintain records of all communications, contracts, and results, tracking the success of various arrangements and partners
  • Build Relationships: Create opportunities for industry growth, research industry trends, marketplace changes, and identify timely opportunities for growth
  • Event Planning and Supervision: Provide white-glove support pre, onsite, and post-event, including onsite event management of additional events including Associations Day, State Meet-Ups, and other various receptions and networking opportunities
  • Marketing Support: Support marketing team with promotion efforts including asset management and agreement execution (including emails, social ads, digital banners, etc.) as needed
Qualifications:
  • Partnership or client management with a proven ability to execute strategies for a fast-paced, evolving industry
  • Experience and/or knowledge of cannabis, media, or the tradeshow industries is a plus, but not required
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills and ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously while managing tight deadlines and maintaining keen attention to detail and high standard of quality
  • Market research capabilities, with the ability to effectively communicate research to stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail; excellent organization and project management skills
  • Self-motivated with experience meeting goals and deadlines within a virtual environment
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, content, finance, and other leaders across the organization
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office programs, Salesforce, project management tools such as Monday.com or a similar. A2Z and Hubspot knowledge a plus, but not required
  • Attend competitive or industry related events
  • Adopt a pan-Emerald mindset and be a collaborative partner with other Emerald brands (i.e. pass leads to other appropriate brands)
  • Travel required up to 25%

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Target Compensation: $64,000-70,000

Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position. This range may ultimately vary based on a candidates qualifications and may be higher where required by applicable law.
