Marketing Coordinator/Administrative Assistant (Part Time)

Job Summary: The Marketing Coordinator/Administrative Assistant will implement the non-profit Company’s Social
Media and Public Relations strategies, by becoming a presence in the community, developing brand awareness, and generating website and social media traffic. This role coordinates with the Development Director to support their respective missions, ensuring consistency in messaging.
This employee will also provide Administrative Support as needed, and fulfill the Administrative role of the non- profit’s children’s program.

The successful candidate will be an articulate, well written, detail-oriented team player who shows exemplary judgment (particularly in regard to media messaging). A deep passion for helping those in need is crucial for success in this role.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the social media and public relations strategy, coordinating with the

Development Director.

  • Manage social media and public relations campaigns and day-to-day activities. Duties include online advocacy and promotion, writing content for a variety of communication platforms, community-outreach efforts, building local relationships, etc.
  • Manage presence on social networking sites including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other similar community sites.
  • Develop and send out email blasts and e-newsletters, print materials and digital materials
  • Assist in updating of Donor Database and updated email lists of community contacts.
  • Write and submit press releases for relevant updates.
  • Coordinate and attend check presentation opportunities for sharing on media.
  • Visit partner programs to learn more about Company influence and stories of impact.
  • Become an advocate of the Company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and responding to questions where appropriate.
  • Translate client experiences into captivating storytelling, enhancing brand awareness and engagement.
  • Monitor Company presence in social media, local and industry media.
  • Assist with and occasionally lead organization of Company events within the community, to include set up and planning.
  • Serve as staff liaison/organizer of volunteer Marketing Committee.
  • Serve as point of contact for Company children’s program, enrolling children in the online database, updating addresses, deleting old addresses and communicating with parents as needed.
  • Market the children’s program through social media and other advertising methods and events, visits to daycares, etc.
  • Send Mail Chimp e-blasts to children enrolled in program as needed.
  • Administrative tasks as needed (such as labeling, assisting with donor thank you letters, donor entry assistance when needed, etc.)

Additional Job Functions:

  • Complete marketing projects as needed
  • Assist in other departments as needed
  • Completion of any task requested by a supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, advertising, communications, marketing or English preferred
  • Public relations, Marketing, Sales, or Community Management experience required
  • Exceptional knowledge and skills of all social media
  • Strong organizational and collaborative skills, attention to detail
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting demanding deadlines, producing high quality work and projecting a positive attitude
  • Team player, with the confidence to take the lead and guide other departments when necessary
  • Open to change and willing to try new ideas
  • Good understanding of technology and social media applications, and can pick up new tools quickly
  • Able to effectively communicate and understand directions
  • Ability to understand and use Microsoft Office. Canva and video editing experience preferred.
  • Sound judgement and ability to respond to criticism and misconceptions with grace

Work Environment:

  • Marketing office (not remote)

Physical Demands:

  • Able to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Can talk and hear
  • Able to attend outdoor events, sit and stand

Hours of work:

  • Hours may vary but are typically within 8:30 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday.
  • 25 hours a week part time position.
  • Some occasional evening or weekend events may be required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
