Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our operations/dispatch team. Our ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills (in person, by phone, and email), be professional, and possess multitasking and problem-solving abilities. Computer proficiency is also necessary to handle tasks such as emailing, tracking loads, updating our load boards, booking loads, and keeping our customers informed of daily updates.
Responsibilities
- Bidding, booking, and managing freight by dealing with direct customers and broker boards.
- Coordinating with customer service representatives to obtain work orders.
- Scheduling appointments with customers for load delivery.
- Responding to emails.
- Entering loads into the dispatch system (sylectus/omnitracs).
- Updating customer load boards.
- Dispatching loads with drivers and ensuring their timely delivery.
- Maintaining communication with drivers throughout their shifts and addressing any routing issues they may have.
- Updating customers about the status of their deliveries, including any delays that may occur.
- Answering calls from delivery drivers and forwarding any emergencies to the appropriate channels.
Preferred Qualifications
- The job requires strong computer skills, and data entry is also a part of it. Knowledge with DAT, Sylectus, and various load boards is a must. The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is necessary. You should be able to communicate clearly with both drivers and customers in a busy working environment. We're looking for a dependable, punctual individual who is committed to showing up for work, someone who will contribute to our team atmosphere, and wants to be a part of a growing company. Dispatch experience is preferred, and driver experience would be helpful. You must have excellent "people skills", including the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of customers and co-workers. You should be available for on-call situations.
