Maxim Integrated Products, LLC ("Maxim") is filing an Application for Alien Employment Certification for the below described job description:
Position: Staff Engineer, Product Applications (Wilmington, Massachusetts)
Duties:
  • Power management IC development:
    • Work with the design team composed of business management, design, applications, test, and product engineering to help create the product.
    • Understanding of control theory, system design, circuit design, power switch design, and magnetics design is essential.
    • Work with customers to understand market needs. Help translate product proposals into initial objective specifications that can be used to design products.
  • New product evaluation:
    • Hands on lab work, both as an individual and with a team, is required to verify the performance of a specific circuit etc. Prepare evaluation reports and other supporting documentation.
  • Development of application literature:
    • Create data sheets, lab reports, and application notes that help the customer effectively use ADI's products.
  • Application circuit development:
    • Develop new application circuits and reference designs. Address customer/market application problems.
  • Customer support tasks:
    • Address problems associated with bringing ADI's products into volume production in the customer's product.
    • Direct customer support, securing samples, driving business management to improve delivery times, answering questions brought up by the business management group, helping out the failure analysis and quality groups when they have problems or questions.
May be eligible for a hybrid schedule (work from home and the office).
Requirements:
This position requires a Bachelor degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and six (6) years of work experience in the job offered or closely related occupation.
As an alternative, employer will accept a Master degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering or closely related field and three (3) years of work experience in the job offered or closely related occupation.
Must possess expertise/ knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/ knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education.
Such expertise/ knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time." Required expertise/ knowledge includes:
  • Understanding of power electronics and DC-DC converters including control theory, analog circuit design, power semiconductor switch design, and magnetics design.
  • Hands-on lab work experience with equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, power supplies, electronic loads, DAQ, etc.
  • Printed circuit board (PCB) layout experience, familiar with design and simulation models including Allegro, Simplis, LTSpice.
  • Experience on power management circuitry debugging/trouble shooting, and solution development.
  • Technical writing skill for IC and evaluation kit data sheets, lab report and application notes.

Salary: $141,419.00 - $189,100.00/year
