The LPT ATE Group located in Wilmington, MA is currently seeking an experienced Analog Design Engineer for the IC development of new products. Products in this strategy are comprised of integrated high speed and precision signal chains targeted towards Industrial applications. Product designs utilize multiple advanced processes including internal 0.18um BiCMOS SiGe processes as well as standard 0.18um and lower geometry CMOS processes. These designs are then combined on a laminate package to provide a custom SIP (System In a Package) solution.
The candidate's responsibilities will include transistor level schematic design and simulation of mixed signal circuits including high speed drivers and receivers, high voltage amplifiers, DACs, opamps and references. Assisting in the system architecture design will also be necessary to ensure designs operate functionally between blocks. Duties also include working with evaluation engineers to compare and contrast simulation and lab results. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual and fast learner with strong technical, analytical and communication skills. The candidate will have the opportunity to learn high speed and high voltage design techniques, gain system level design experience, work with newly developed internal processes and collaborate closely with an experienced development team.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Design analog/digital circuits including high-speed drivers and receivers as well as precision op-amps, buffers, voltage references and high voltage solutions
  • Collaborate with integrated circuit design team to implement system level requirements
  • Participate with customer collaboration to define product architecture and requirements
  • Spice transistor circuit simulation
  • Collaborate with evaluation department to compare measured vs simulated results including eye diagrams, jitter and edge timing placement accuracy
  • Preparation and presentation of design review documentation
Qualifications:
  • BSEE, MSEE preferred, with 3 years of analog design experience and design integration.
  • Must have knowledge and/or experience in: Analog Circuit Design
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Knowledge of Spice simulators and CAD tools (Cadence Virtuoso).
  • Ability to problem solve at the transistor and system levels
  • Knowledge of lab equipment including digital oscilloscopes and source generators
