QualificationsHigh school diploma or its equivalent. Minimum of four (4) years' commercial and industrial electrical experience required. Current Michigan Electrician Journeyman’s Card required. Community College and/or Vocational School degree with study in commercial and industrial electrical desired. Must be able to meet physical demands of the working environment.
Essential Functions
- Analyzes drawings for the purpose of identifying location of new and existing electrical systems and determining the efficient installation of additional systems.
- Coordinates with administration and other trades for the purpose of completing projects/workorders efficiently.
- Installs electrical systems including under ground electrical conduit, fire alarms, switchboards, audio visual alarms, etc. for the purpose of maintaining them in safe operating condition.
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality for the purpose of ensuring efficient delivery of services to the District.
- Orders equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of required items.
- Prepares documentation for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.
- Repairs various items, systems and/or components (e.g. clocks, bells, exhaust motors, alarms, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that items are available and in safe working condition.
- Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
- Transports various items (e.g. tools, equipment, supplies, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
- Assists other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.
