Empowerment Scope:

A Senior Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. They will be responsible for ensuring that projects will support profitable business decisions by using knowledge of cost and having an analytical mindset. A Senior Electrical Estimator must be thorough and apt in managing relations with key persons and will work alongside the Project Management Team to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth. A Senior Electrical Estimator will also assist with other estimators as needed.

Accountability Measures:

General Expectations

· Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.

· Maintains contact and relationships with private individuals and organizations.

· Identifies labor, material, and time requirements.

· Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

· Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

· Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.

· Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data.

· Continually updates technical knowledge.

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Follows up with clients on submitted proposals and budgets.

· Assist other estimators as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

· Electrical Estimating Experience

· Excellent communication skills, project management, and time-management skills

· Strong analytic abilities, math skills, and must be a critical thinker.

· Working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, word processing programs, and construction management software

· Understanding of construction documents

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

· Ability to coordinate and work independently.

· Knowledge of CAD software

Documentation

· Develop and maintain lists for all upcoming, current and outstanding bids.

· Update Management and Project Management team of potential projects and requirements.

Result Summary:

Senior Electrical Estimator responsibilities include working closely with ISE Project Management and Financial team, as well as consultants and contractors. A Senior Electrical Estimator must be able to weigh multiple perspectives on projects and negotiate and balance project needs with budget priorities.
