  • Summary / Objective

    The maintenance technician will provide support for our local production assembly lines including robots and various other facility equipment to support the site operation, as well as will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on machines and fixtures.

    Prepares a systematic approach to the repair and maintenance of the assembly equipment and related facilities. Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the plant equipment focusing on assembly lines to ensure maximum production quantity and quality while supporting the goals and objectives of the company and responding to service requests from the company.

    Please note this position is a 2nd Shift*

    Essential Duties include but not limited to :

    • Monitor and optimize assembly line equipment procedures to ensure optimal performance.
    • Responsible for the programming and electrical debugging of production line equipment PLC, HMI, robots, servo systems, and image systems.
    • Provide training and technical support to equipment maintenance personnel to solve problems that occur in the production line.
    • Perform setup changes according to defined requirements and manage transitions between different production batches.
    • Optimize and maintain on-site production line equipment programs, analyze program problems based on actual conditions, verify recommended changes, and ensure uninterrupted production.
    • Assist in analyzing the root causes of substandard products returned on site or by customers and developing corresponding improvement measures.

    Update field equipment electrical procedures and formalize them into management regulations, lessons learned, and other relevant documents.

    • Ability to identify the root cause of equipment problems (including mechanical, high voltage, low voltage and PLC related issues) and perform repairs.
    • Actively communicate with other departments to maintain and improve manufacturing processes and equipment.
    • Check equipment regularly to identify and correct any problems or malfunctions.
    • Resolve equipment issues through effective troubleshooting to minimize any disruption in workflow.
    • Use MES (Manufacturing Execution System) & LC (Production Line Control System) to establish and maintain process paths, equipment information and related data.
    • Record test results and necessary adjustments.
    • Possess strong electrical skills.
    • Provide technical guidance and training to ensure production assemblers have the necessary skills, appropriate work instructions and tools.
    • Promote a safe work environment and prevent injuries through the use of 6S, job rotation and ergonomic work methods.
    • Comply with all IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 policies and procedures.
    • Comply with company policies and regulations.
    • Continuously analyze areas of responsibility, make suggestions for improving production, communication, and reporting methods, and make recommendations to appropriate departments to achieve maximum efficiency.
    • Communicate daily with various departments and management at all levels via email, phone, face-to-face, etc. to optimize operational efficiency.
    • Recover FANUC robots from faults
    • Preform tool changes on assembly machines
    • Ensure all scheduled maintenance is performed without exception so that equipment is able to run according to design specification.
    • Responsible for electrical control of equipment and selection of electrical related materials
    • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
    • Able to create equipment maintenance work instructions
    • Able to accurately perform preventive maintenance on a daily basis with a sense of urgency.
    • Read and interpret, blueprints, equipment manuals and work orders to preform required maintenance and service
    • Preform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
    • Provide emergency / unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and preform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during service

    Qualifications

    • Experienced with working in an automotive manufacturing and assembly environment
    • Maintaining / troubleshooting equipment / machinery and tools
    • CAD drawing skills and other drawing software
    • Familiar with mechanical design, manufacturing and other related majors, with relevant automation equipment maintenance experience
    • Familiar with high and low voltage electrical control, understand electronic components and various electrical components.
    • Familiar with the use of mainstream PLC, data acquisition card, data acquisition module and other industrial field data acquisition equipment
    • Work in MS Excel and MS Word
    • Ability to communicate and work effectively with others. This includes ability to communicate through emails
    • Experienced with assembly and operations that are performed at the facility.
    • Knowledge of local codes as applicable to facilities

    Education and Experience

    • Combination of education and related experience.
    • Previous experience in a production environment.
    • 3 years’ maintenance experience preferred in an automotive or manufacturing environment
    • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
    • Knowledge of preventive maintenance, include lock-out procedures.
    • Knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems, Electrical, PLC and robotics.
    • Work generally performed in an office and manufacturing environment and requires strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.
    • Physical strength to perform tasks.
    • Custom fabrications to facilitate production process
    • Strong communication skills, problem analysis and data analysis skills
