The Mental Health Technician (MHT) functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from children ages 5 -12, adolescents 13-17, and adults 18 depending upon which unit worked.

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) leads therapeutic MHT groups with patients and is able to intervene effectively in crisis situations.
