Animal Hospital of Thousand Oaks is Hiring a Veterinary Receptionist Near Thousand Oaks, CA

Animal Hospital of Thousand Oaks is a privately owned, two doctor small animal hospital that provides medical care for dogs and cats. We are growing our team and looking for the right candidate who compliments our hospital culture.

  • You will get a lunch break!
  • Our office closes at 5pm and we rarely stay much past closing. You will not be required to stay hours past your scheduled shift. Get home, spend time with family, snuggle your pets - whatever brings you joy!
  • A cleaning service comes M-F after closing to vacuum, mop and dispose of trash for the entire hospital. Our receptionists sanitize exam rooms in between patients and maintain cleanliness throughout the day.
  • Our work is challenging and fast paced, but very rewarding. You make connections with clients while providing a high level of customer service.
  • Full-time benefits include vacation (PTO), sick pay, generous personal pet discount, PPO medical/dental plan, 401K with matching 3% (after 1 yr).
  • Part-time positions will be considered depending on hospital needs.

What are some of the job duties?

As a veterinary receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our clients in person and on the phone. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are an integral part of this position. Our ideal candidate is very friendly, detail oriented, and able to express empathy to clients during difficult situations.

  • Greeting clients in our lobby and checking in patients for exams.
  • Answering phone calls and scheduling appointments. This position does require the ability to multi-task efficiently.
  • Processing transactions and collecting payments using our electronic medical system.
  • Providing a high level of customer service while also maintaining empathy.
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology and more!

We are open Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. The hospital is closed Saturdays, Sundays and all federal Holidays.

The starting wage for this position is $17/hr, with the opportunity for higher pay based on experience.
