Technical Project Manager

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) has the primary responsibility of

ensuring team progress is maintained, while reporting project health to

project stakeholders. The Technical Project Manager:

  • Develops overall project plans (phases, tasks, risks), including setting

targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.

  • Delegates project tasks to team members.
  • Primary liaison between software development team and other teams

on project goals.

  • Establishes the project charter between the customer team and project

team.

  • Establishes timelines and call cadence with customer, as well as

internal update meetings to align internal resources.

  • Reports project status to all project stakeholders (internal and

external).

  • Tracks project health to identify obstacles or impediments early.
  • Identifies and secures resources for the development team.
  • Documents all project meetings for delivery to project stakeholders.
  • Tracks velocity and team capacity.
  • Conducts the Scrum Master role in Agile development.
  • Conducts internal and daily stand-up meetings.
  • Performing quality control on the project throughout development to

maintain governance adherence

  • Adjusts schedules and targets on the project as needed due to time,

budget or resource constraints.

  • Microsoft Project, Office Products
  • Agile, Scrum, Waterfall and Hybrid
  • Technical background in development, with a deep understanding of

how software development projects work and their challenges.

  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members,

vendors and management

  • Analytical, computer, math and problem-solving skills
  • Organizational and time management skills to keep projects on pace to

completion

  • PMP Certification and Certified ScrumMaster (Preferred)

Experience

  • Five years working in software development with delivery success
