**Description**

Fuel Delivery Drivers provide residential and/or commercial deliveries of heating oil, on-road diesel, off-road diesel, gasoline and kerosene to JJ Powell customers in a professional, friendly, courteous, caring and loyal manner.

The following are essential functions of the job:

**Provide enhanced customer service**

Follow delivery instructions and loading procedures safely, without incidents. Must wear uniform and personal protective equipment.

**Focus on attention to detail**

Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures. Complete and turn in paperwork daily including but not limited to receipts, payments, bill of ladings. Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers. Maintain records, such as vehicle logs, records of cargo, billing statements, and other records required by law. Accurately complete pre and post trip vehicle inspections.

**Provide Quality Assurance**

Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles. Keep vehicle clean and handle with care. Report delays, accidents, or unsafe conditions or situations to dispatcher in a safe and legal manner. Recommend any changes to improve the efficiency of service to supervisor.

**Maintain License Requirements**

Responsible for maintaining active Med-Card and Drivers License with the required endorsements. Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state and local regulations for the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle. Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds and in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather and in or out of tight areas. Maintain all required certifications required by DOT, OSHA and company safety programs.

**Supervisory Responsibility**

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

**Physical Demands and Work Environment**

This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works outside exposed to weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or corrosive chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office, or moderately loud when in the field.

**Expected Hours of Work**

The employee must be available during the scheduled work hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

**Travel**

Travel is primarily local during the business day.

**Qualifications, Education & Experience**

Valid CDL License (Class B).

Hazmat, Tanker and Air Brake Endorsements

High school diploma or GED.

1 year of relevant experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.

- Complete all assigned deliveries for the day

- Responds to all after hours when on call.
