Springfield Nephrology Associates is Southwest Missouri’s largest group of physicians specializing in the care of patients with kidney disease. Since 1996, Springfield Nephrology has enjoyed the trust of patients and the respect of the community throughout the Southwest Missouri region. Today, Springfield Nephrology Associates has grown to include 5 board-certified physicians and 8 specialized nurse practitioners. Together, they partner in the delivery of care to patients hospitalized at Mercy and at Citizens Memorial, to patients residing in the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners (as an affiliate of Mercy), to patients receiving treatment in dialysis units throughout Springfield and surrounding counties, as well as in satellite clinics in Bolivar, Nixa, Aurora, Lebanon, Mt. Grove and West Plains. Springfield Nephrology Associates aims to provide a consolidated approach to the regional healthcare needs of Southwest Missouri patients, offering comprehensive care for patients with kidney disease. JOB DESCRIPTION: The patient service representative is the initial customer service contact within our physician practice. They work closely with the nurses and physicians to communicate appointments, needed services, etc. Front office support staff duties include basic clerical skills, data entry, medical record duties and customer service.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:
High School Diploma or GED
Data Entry; 50 wpm.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and regulations.
Basic knowledge of office equipment (copier, fax, etc.).
Customer service professional/patient-oriented
JOB DUTIES:
a) New patient(s). Ask new patient to complete information sheets and obtain
a copy of their insurance cards.
b) Established patient(s). Have patient review demographic and insurance
information, correcting as necessary and signing. Transfer any updated
information from the paperwork into the medical manager system.
a) Schedule next appointment if schedule is available
b) Send orders to nurse for procedures
c) Give patient a copy of their clinical summary and lab orders
a) Change toner(s) as needed on fax, copier, printer(s).
b) Order supplies as needed for fax, copier, printer(s).
c) Call for repairs as needed for fax, copier, printer(s).
