Situated at the base of the Cascades in a pioneering, adventure-loving town, SVH is an independent public hospital district serving Snoqualmie Valley and the greater East King County community.

OBJECTIVE SUMMARY: The Patient Access Department Lead oversees the daily operations of all Patient Access sub-departments. The lead partners closely with the Patient Access Manager to provide leadership coverage and presence to the registration staff in the hospital and clinics. This individual is responsible for ensuring the effective operations through organizing, scheduling, and monitoring department workloads. In addition, will monitor quality and productivity metrics and coordinates training as needed. The lead will serve as the first line of escalation for staff questions on workflows and go-to resource for staff. This position is customer service driven and the applicant must have the ability to effectively promote an exceptional patient experience while working in a highly stressful environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Obtain and verify accurate patient demographic and financial information; communicate the purpose for all required patient documents for clinics, ED, and outpatient services.
  • Ensures patient receives necessary Medicare/Medicaid disclosures, MSP verification and privacy information, including, but not limited to, education regarding the Charity policy and the hospital’s billing procedures.
  • Schedule and arrive patients in both clinic and outpatient setting.
  • Provides float coverage for ED and Urgent Care to cover sick calls and PTO as needed.
  • Provides excellent customer service by identifying customer needs and fulfilling customer expectations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Possess a solid understanding of health insurance and financial assistance.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with a history of increasing responsibility and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

LEAD RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Oversees the daily operation of all Patient Access sub-departments.
  • Serves as mentor to all Patient Access, Schedulers, and referral team staff.
  • Trains new staff and assists with ongoing training for existing staff.
  • Responsible for staff department schedules.
  • Responsible for assisting with Patient Access Manager with quality improvement measures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: AA degree or Three years of professional experience in a medical office or related healthcare field.

Eligibility Requirements - Employees regularly scheduled at least 20 hours per week.
