Sr. System EngineerWe are looking for a Sr. System Engineer to join our Shelby team!
As our Sr. System Engineer, you will develop electromechanical and hydromechanical actuation design solutions for commercial and defense related aircraft flight control and utility actuation applications. You will establish and manage requirements database aspects for critical aircraft actuation systems that include DO-178 and DO-254 certified software and electronics and support the development process through all phases from proposals to certification completion. You will also develop system architectures for integrated actuation sub-systems, and generate associated schematics, diagrams and descriptions to support contracted programs and new business proposals.

For the Aerospace market, we supply actuation systems for flight control, landing gear, utility and other applications on both commercial and military aircraft. In Ground & Naval Defense markets, we support a wide array of applications ranging from door assist, ramp and hatch actuation, weapons handling systems, radar and launch platform actuation, and robotic (AUV/ROV) actuation.

Your Challenge
- Work within product development teams to support equipment mechanical and electronic design and development from initial proposal through qualification phase.
- Develop and maintain system requirements database using IBM DOORS based on customer specifications for critical systems including certified software based flight control and utility actuation applications.
- Perform all aspects of requirements management including requirements capture, analysis, validation, allocation, traceability and verification.
- Allocate system requirements to system components and generate lower tier component design and development specifications.
- Develop system architecture definition based on required system functionality and performance
- Must be a US Citizen
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
- 6 years of experience.
- Understanding of system engineering principals and methodology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with Matlab/Simulink simulation modeling environment.
- Experience with MS (Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
