**This role requires candidates to be located in the Seattle Washington area as it's a hybrid position that will require some work onsite in this location.**

What You'll Do:

• Translate complex or ambiguous requirements into clean, scalable, and well-documented code.
• Design, develop, and maintain software applications and systems to deliver value to end-users.
• Implement and optimize algorithms, data usage, and cloud services for latency, availability, and cost efficiency.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues to ensure business continuity and exceptional end-user experiences.
• Participate in code reviews to uphold code quality, maintainability, security, scalability, and adherence to coding standards.
• Write unit & integration tests, implement observability, and adhere to best practices for builds and deployment to ensure platform quality and reliability.
• Provide on-call support, owning production issues from root cause analysis to resolution and future prevention.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design, security, compliance, etc.) to bring ideas to fruition.
• Set and uphold high standards of technical excellence across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to hiring efforts to strengthen the team.

What You'll Need:

• At least a Bachelor's in CS or equivalent education with a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience or an advanced degree such as a master’s or PhD.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience leading projects from architectural design to production while maintaining high technical standards within your team.
• Proficiency in modern development frameworks and languages (e.g., Java, Python, Go).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and DevOps practices like continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
• Strong understanding of security best practices for building enterprise applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of relevant professional experience or a combination of work experience and advanced education.
• Proven ability to self-direct technical work and scope projects effectively.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers.
• Deep expertise in at least one area relevant to our cloud-based financial platform (e.g., fintech, distributed systems, databases, security, or front-end).
