We are seeking a commercial Security Technician to join our federal team. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.
Pay Range: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Berkeley, MO (Client Site)

This position is a Union position.

As a Security Technician , you will:

• Conducts maintenance and service work of existing Electronic Security Systems (ESS) to include, but not limited to, access controls, intrusion detection, and camera systems. Specific systems include, but not limited to: SoftwareHouse C-cure 9000, Lenel, DMP, Bosch, Exacqvision, MDI and American Dynamics.
• May installs security devices and infrastructure at times in accordance with installation plan according to the national electric code, company and customer guidelines.
• Assists with security system programming and setup.
• Conducts testing to ensure proper operation of equipment after installation or repairs.
• Conducts testing of system to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service.
• May help prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions from supervisor.
• Conduct End-User training.
• Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
• Performs other duties as required, including working on-call.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience installing, inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing of commercial and/or industrial integrated / electronic security systems for complex low voltage intrusion, access control, CCTV and digital recording systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
• Capable of using hand and power tools to properly mount and secure equipment.
• Works well unsupervised and also as part of a team environment
• Active Department of Defense Secret clearance (or one that was active within the last 2 years).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency working with commercial and/or industrial camera systems. Experience working with Bosch, MDI, and/or American Dynamics preferred. (Preferred, but not required)

Preferred Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent
