At Millwood , we provide a unique and memorable summer camp experience for children ages 5-12. We’re looking for enthusiastic and responsible counselors to join our team and help us create a fun and safe environment for our campers. As a counselor, you will be responsible for leading a group of campers in activities such as swimming, hiking, arts and crafts, and sports. You will also help with the planning and execution of special events and daily field trips. The most successful counselors will be patient, organized, and have a genuine love for working with children.

This position is a flexible position and hours will be 20- 40 hours weekly.

The Summer camp program functions inside Millwood Christian Church, in Rogers Arkansas, and exists to serve the community's child care needs and facilitate a warm, and safe environment for children. This position is for someone who loves school aged children, is interested in helping children learn and grow, and most of all someone who loves to have fun at work!

Responsibilities:

• Planning group activities, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and other activities to ensure each child has a positive experience during their time at camp
• Providing emotional support to children who are dealing with stress, anxiety, or other issues
• Assisting with activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, and other activities that are offered during the day
• Supervising children at all times, ensuring they are safe and following rules
• Communicating with parents regularly to update them on their child’s progress and any issues at camp
• Assisting with children’s medical needs by reporting illnesses or injuries to medical staff
• Organizing activities for younger children such as crafts and games
• Conducting activities such as arts and crafts projects or sports activities with the children
• Supporting campers during times of transition, such as going to meals or naps
• Have a valid Drivers License & Clean driving record to assist in driving vans to transport children to and from field trips.
• Comply with state, school, and class rules and regulations

Salary: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
