Traffic Engineer- Remote

Job Description

• Candidate will provide traffic analysis of existing local class 5 interconnect network to determine requirements for supporting traffic on local C20/G9 switch network.
• Candidate will provide traffic analysis of existing long distance interconnect network to determine requirements for supporting traffic on VZB voice switch platforms
• Work closely with Switch Engineering team to help provide forecasts and trunk plans for capacity analysis and requirements.

Responsibilities Include

• Create new trunk plans for target switch network
• Provide forecasts to Switch Engineering to share with terminating carriers
• Trending analysis of existing voice interconnect traffic reports to support growth and various projects focused on decommissioning
• Develop trunk plans and initiate internal orders in support of network interconnection
• Initiate system orders to start circuit design and ASR process for carrier Tandem and End Office trunk groups
• Help manage orders and downstream processes to ensure timely activation or disconnects of network trunk groups
• Work cross organizationally with provisioning and project management teams
• Initiate OTIS orders to start circuit design and ASR process for Tandem/911 Trunk Groups
• Review traffic reports for new local C20/G9 trunk groups to verify sufficient capacity
• Initiate OTIS orders to disconnect old class 5 interconnection network once traffic has been migrated
• Work cross organizationally with provisioning and project management teams

Qualifications

Traffic Engineering experience preferred

Good working knowledge of PSTN

Familiarity with LERG and local calling guides

Google Applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides)

Analytical Thinker and Problem Solver
