Fairgrounds Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to become the next member of our incredible team. While our ideal candidate will have some prior veterinary experience, we’re open to training candidates who are eager to learn and committed to the veterinary field. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and enjoy teamwork.

This is a flexible full-time or part-time position with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Friday.

Some of the responsibilities for this role:

• Client service and communication
• Patient handling and restraint
• Venipuncture
• Administering medications and injections
• General outpatient procedures
• Laboratory and pharmacy duties
• Boarding and kennel duties
• Hospital cleaning

Our full-time compensation and benefits:

• Compensation: $18.00-$19.00/hr based on experience
• Bonus Package: $500 for Veterinary Assistants with 3 years of recent experience

Fairground Animal Hospital, the biggest little clinic in Reno, offers a wide range of veterinary services to our clients and patients from wellness exams and annual vaccines to dental care, soft tissue/orthopedic surgeries, and urgent care. We have an excellent in-house lab, digital full body x-ray, dental radiography, ultrasound, intra-oral camera, laser therapy and a paperless record system through Cornerstone. Additionally, we utilize high-grade anesthetic monitoring equipment, including doppler, capnography, ECG, and pulse oximetry.
