As part of our ongoing commitment to infection prevention and control, we are seeking a qualified Infection Control Nurse to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement Infection Control Policies: Create, implement, and evaluate infection control policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Monitoring and Surveillance: Conduct regular surveillance of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) within the facility. Monitor infection trends, identify potential outbreaks, and take prompt corrective action.
Education and Training: Provide education and training to healthcare staff on infection control practices, hand hygiene, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, and environmental services, to ensure a cohesive approach to infection prevention and control.
Outbreak Response: Actively participate in outbreak investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and implement control measures to prevent further spread of infections.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with infection control regulations and guidelines. Stay updated on current infection control practices and guidelines.
Data Collection and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of infection control data. Prepare and submit reports as required by regulatory agencies.
Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments related to infection control and develop strategies to minimize the risk of infections within the nursing home.
Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to infection control. Identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based practices.
