United Support Services, Inc., founded in 2003, is an innovative engineering and technology business headquartered in San Diego, CA. USS is seeking a Field Service Representative (FSR - Quantico) at Quantico, VA to provide support and services on the Presidential fleet at NAS Patuxent River Md . Contractor support is required for the VH-92A, VH-3D, VH-60N, test aircraft and other aircraft. Contractor performance includes but is not limited to flight operations support; O, I and D-level aircraft maintenance; aircraft and component overhaul and repair; technical and engineering support; modification kit development, management and installation; aircraft acceptance and transfer inspections; technical directive incorporation; bulletin compliance; and Planned Maintenance Interval (PMI) for VH-92A aircraft.

Please note: This position is contingent on the contract awarded to PKL Services. The period of Performance will be 5 years and is expected to start in November 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Field Service Representative provides technical insight, review, and support to mechanics, aircrew, FST as well as PMA-274 Maintenance Department on VH-92A aircraft .

  • Acts as a liaison between the HMX-1 maintainers and operators (aircrew) and PMA-274 Maintenance Department Managers to ensure a consistent communication flow.
  • Identifies opportunities to reduce costs and minimize out of service time.
  • Maintains a focus on supporting both line maintenance users, contract field teams (CFT) and FST with corrective maintenance requests and technical guidance.
  • Coordinates the sourcing of approved parts, design solutions and readiness improvement initiatives taking into consideration availability, cost and operational needs.
  • Provides technical insight, support, direction and authorization to mechanics and vendors completing the assignment, overhaul, repair and planned maintenance of the VH-92A.
  • Ensures all work is assigned and in accordance with all established procedures and maintenance programs.
  • Provides support to mechanics and CFT in identification of repair procedures and troubleshooting.
  • Provides technical input in the development of specific PM checks for all maintenance actions.
  • Participates in the identification, monitoring and performance against established maintenance practices and instructions.

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in relevant S-92A or VH-92A aircraft/systems.
  • Airframes and Power Plant (A&P) License/FAA Certification preferred.
  • Experience with military rotary aviation preferred.

Education Requirement:

  • A high school diploma or GED.

Other Requirements:

  • Top Secret (TS) U.S. Security Clearance. Must be eligible for a Yankee White (YW) U.S. Security Clearance. Only US citizens eligible for this position.
  • Individuals released from Military Service with other than “Honorable Discharge” do not meet minimum qualifications.
  • CONUS and OCONUS travel may occasionally be required.

Physical Demands and Work Environment 

  • This position requires normal physical functions.
  • Ability to both sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key).
  • Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing.
  • Must be able to perform work on ladders and work stands.
  • Must be able to lift and pull objects weighing up to 40 pounds at a time or greater than 40 lbs. with assistance.
  • Must have visual acuity to inspect equipment and identify defects.
  • May be exposed at times to moderate discomforts such as heat, cold, rain, wind.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Office/shop environment, hangar and flightline
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing through a hazardous area.
