Currently we are accepting resumes for a talented, Senior Architect with a minimum of 15 years experience working in the commercial architectural field to join our team. The position will offer the candidate opportunities to grow within the firm and thrive in an innovative, fast-paced, and highly collaborative environment mentoring design professionals. Educational facility experience is a plus. At Huckabee, the Senior Architect is a quality focused role serving as a resource and mentor in technical knowledge to project teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the quality assurance process on projects
- Perform thorough reviews to ensure projects meet technical quality standards
- Carefully monitor the use of new materials and construction methods for compliance with best practices and standards
- Lead document review meetings with project teams to ensure understanding of corrections needed
- Serve as a technical resource to staff in all phases of a project
- Serve as a mentor to the Project Architect/Project Leader, investing in technical development
- Maintain proficiency regarding building materials, construction methods, costs, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the development of evolving best practice standards based on continuing education and lessons learned in construction
- Implement and teach standards and evolving best practices
REQUIREMENTS
- Active architectural licensure required
- Experience in a quality control efforts in an architectural firm required
- Experience as a mentor and educator to architectural staff required
- Institutional facilities experience required; educational facilities experience preferred
- Task driven and focused with high attention to detail
- Proficient in Bluebeam
- Experience in the following software is a plus
- BIM360
- Microsoft Teams
- Revit
