Looking for a Gallery Assistant who is an energetic, committed, flexible team player with a self-starting, ‘can do’ approach and a strong sense of initiative.

MUST: Be fluent in English. Mandarin speaking is a plus but not required.

MUST: Be local to Pasadena or surrounding areas.

MUST: Have a valid Driver's License.

MUST:proficient in organization and storage solutions.

Gallery Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain excellent understanding of current exhibitions/events in order to convey to visitors the concepts behind each show
• Assisting in the planning and booking of events
• Assisting with social media updates, news on the website and creating events through Facebook, Instagram and Wix
• Managing and maintaining gallery’s image library in good order, by resizing and filing images as necessary
• Updating artists’ exhibitions & events in planner and managing artist info on website
• Ensure general Maintenance of Gallery Space
• Assist with installation and deinstallation of exhibitions/events
• Develop thorough understanding of the Gallery’s roster of artists, program of exhibitions and philosophy and objectives.
• Assist all colleagues with occasional general tasks as necessary

Further Specifications:

• Office/Assistant experience is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Computer Mac OS (inc. MS office, Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Final Cut Pro) and Internet skills (inc. social networking sites) IS A PLUS
• Ability to work during scheduled gallery events (may include occasional evenings and weekends).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
