Cool Pak LLC a Bunzl company, a fast growing provider of packaging solutions to the produce industry is looking for a Printing Department Manager. The Printing Department Manager works in a high-quality, customer-driven, fast paced, flexographic printing department in both a manufacturing and office environment. This is a hands-on management position requiring strong leadership and technical skills. This position interacts daily with other Production Team members including customer service, purchasing/inventory management, warehouse, quality assurance, and other department personnel.

***Responsibilities:***

* Directs and coordinates activities, equipment and personnel of the Flexo Department to ensure all work and operations are performed according to schedule & within quality standards.

* Work with the sales team to generate label quotes for customers ensuring appropriate margins.

* In conjunction with other staff members, oversees activities of department resources to maximize efficiencies and on time deliveries to both external and internal customers.

* Oversee the pre-press process and ensure accuracy of proofs and plates while maintaining communication with sales and customer service departments.

* Supports growth & profitability of the company, by developing operational capability & capacity to meet seasonal customer demand by leveraging technologies & people.

* Evaluate existing printing & finishing equipment and in conjunction with the maintenance manager, develop and implement a strong PM program.

* Analyzes and proposes methods for sustained productivity increases.

* Identify and recommend capital projects for the purpose of improving productivity and reducing labor costs.

* Manages inventory levels and ensures inventory accuracy via regular cycle counts.

* Enforce Pure safety training for all members of the department and correct unsafe behaviors

* Maintain a safe, clean, and organized printing room and rewinding area that meets Cool Paks GMP and 5-S requirements.

* Audit various paperwork and postings for accuracy and compliance with appropriate local, state and federal laws, statutes and company policies

* Effectively counsel and manage employees on attendance, performance and/or misconduct

* Manage the JD Edwards system for the purpose of scrap validations, label cycle counts/Bin locations etc

* Other duties as assigned

***Requirements:***

* Three to five years' related experience

* High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred but not.

* Knowledge of local, state and federal OSHA safety regulations.

* Experience with flexographic printing and graphics art is a must.

* Must have strong leadership, people management and organization skills.

* Ability to work a flexible work schedule with a "hands-on" management style.

* Experience with JD Edwards ERP systems a huge plus.

* Must be able to lift heavy objects (occasionally between 60-75 lbs) with or without reasonable accommodation for an entire shift.
