TuckerBrooke Kennels is Hiring a Kennel Technician Near on, NY

Responsibilities Kennel Technician

We are seeking a part-time Kennel Technician to join our team with opportunity to grow and become full time if high quality work is shown in the first months. TuckerBrooke Kennels is a dog boarding facility.

The successful candidate will share our love of the dog and our loyal clientele while we provide excellent quality care to their pets.

The Kennel Technician provides general care for our boarding dogs (feeding, letting outside, walking), cleans their enclosure and bedding, supervises playtime, and gives belly rubs and kisses.

Split Shift - Days and Evenings, Weekends and some Holidays

Job Start Date: 1-2 weeks

Job Type: Part-time To Full Time

Pay: From $15-18 depends on experience

Qualifications:

  • Physically able to control 65-100 pound dogs and withstand up to two hours of repetitive bending, stooping, kneeling and squatting on concrete surface
  • Able to regularly dogs weighing up to 80 lbs and dog food containers weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Experience caring for dogs in a kennel, veterinarian's office or training environment preferred
  • Reliability, high level of integrity and punctuality are essential
  • Flexibility is a must including weekends, evenings and holidays as required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work daily with bleach and other cleaning agents
  • Ability to accurately assess situations and make quick, sound judgements
  • Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Some personal, volunteer or professional experience in handling and/or training dogs required
  • Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel facility
  • Clean and maintain kennels, including feeding, watering, and exercising animals
  • Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the supervisor
  • Assist with animal restraint and handling during medical procedures or grooming sessions
  • Administer medications as directed
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and behavior observations
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment for both animals and staff
  • Assist with basic grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing
  • Ability to drive to Castleton, NY
