SPECIFICACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Technicalfactors: Automatic exposure control is usedappropriately. Technical factors (kvp, ma, time and distance) are accuratelyutilized. Appropriate cassette is used (regular, grid, etc.), collimation andtomographic factors are employed and assistance is given to the attendingphysician during exams.2. Positioningtechniques: Appropriate body parts are imaged andidentified, views are acquired, and immobilization is employed, Radiologistprotocols are followed. Practices good sterile techniques. Performs Computed TomographyExams with and without power contrast injections.3. Archiving is done appropriately with the PACS.4. Gantry: Angle mechanism is used appropriately, Table height is appropriate, Positioningis appropriate for exam. 5. Patienthandling: Transports, transfers and positions patientsin a manner that is safe for the patient. Confirms that patient and exampreparations are appropriate. Evaluates patient's mental and physical conditionin order to avoid hazardous situations and does not leave alone, if theirsafety is questioned.6. Accurate patient and image documentation in the HIS/RIS and PACSsystems.7. Performs SBAR as required and uses AIDET.8. Monitors patientneeds.9. Performsnecessary paperwork and archiving.10. Administerscontrast media when appropriate.11. Proficient instarting IV's. 12. May be assignedon-call standby shifts as needed by the department.13. Handlesconfidential information according to HIPAA regulations. 14. SpecializedEquipment Setup:a. Ability to adjusttechnical settings.b. Ability to adjustphysical parameters.c. Positioning isappropriate for exam. 15. Maintainsprofessional growth and development through seminars, workshops andprofessional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field ofexpertise.16. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of MSDS,equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.17. Washington StateRadiologic Technologist Certification.2. Registered - AmericanRegistry of Radiologic Technologists, RT(R) (CT) required.3. Minimum of two (2)years experience in hospital setting preferred. 4. Basic LifeSupport Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire. COMPETENCIES:1.
