Milwaukee Public Schools is Hiring an INFORMATION SPECIALIST (WELCOME CENTER ASSOCIATE) Near Milwaukee, WI

The Information Specialist (Welcome Center Associate) provides exceptional customer service in welcoming, assessing and appropriately responding to the needs of Welcome Center visitors who will primarily be current and prospective MPS families and students.
The salary range is $43,376 - 59,122(12 months/260 days)

If you are selected for the next stage of the interview process, you will be asked to request three, electronic professional references. Appointment is subject to a criminal background check, a drug/alcohol test and credential verification. Non MPS employees must submit official transcripts confirming Degrees. No applications will be accepted after the deadline date and time.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma. Bachelor's degree in business, communications, marketing or related areas preferred.
  • Customer service experience working with individuals from varied backgrounds required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Familiarity with MPS systems, especially Infinite Campus, Parent Dispute Resolution System, TRIP and other applicable district systems preferred.
As of November 1, 2021, all MPS employees are required to be fully vaccinated. The health and safety of our staff and students is our number one priority. Responsibilities
  • Greets, registers and appropriately assesses and responds to the needs of Welcome Center guests.
  • Ensures that all visitors' entrance and exit is properly recorded in the Welcome Center tracking system.
  • Provides service to families in the areas of parent portal account creation, password resets, complaints, general enrollment, transportation, specialized service referral, Head Start and bilingual testing questions.
  • Maintains welcome center supply inventory by working with the department administrative assistant.
  • Ensures that the welcome center is kept clean and inviting at all times.
  • Notifies the appropriate district staff and the director of any staff, service delivery, technology issues or concerns immediately.
  • Actively supports the MPS Strategic Plan.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
