Overall Requirements:

Capable of performing product design activities for disposable patient contact devices and electronics systems and instruments. Ability to create component and subsystem designs and integrate them into mechanical assemblies that address the complete product requirements, including functional, product performance, User and environmental. Capable of designing or sourcing parts and materials, performing design activities, fabricating prototypes of their design and iterating the design into a configuration that can pass verification testing and be manufactured. Shall have experience with fabrication techniques, such as, machining, injection molding, rapid prototyping, adhesive bonding and mechanical assembly. Shall also create and update Device Master Record documents (e.g., drawings of mechanical components and subassemblies, systems specifications and assembly procedures) using Solid Works solid modeling software and word processing tools.

Detailed Requirements:

Capable of designing and drawing with the Solid Works design/analysis packages.

Familiarity with ANSI Y 14.5 drafting standards.

Capable of designing, drawing and documenting small intricate parts.

Capable of integrating design drawings into a Microsoft Word document and editing the verbiage, with engineering assistance, when required.

Able to release formal documentation, e.g., ECO Cover Page, Component Specification Cover Page, etc., in accordance with the Stellartech Quality System process.

Good English speaking and writing abilities.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Associate Degree with 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or equivalent field of study, or a BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field of study with 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer.
• At least 8 years of experience in an R&D environment, medical device experience preferred.
• Able to operate typical machine shop equipment for prototyping designs.
• Team-oriented professional with good interpersonal skills who is hands-on and self-motivated.
