Responsibilities
- Research, evaluate, and select vendors to support purchasing initiatives. Lead negotiations of supply agreements to ensure price goals are met.
- Monitor and evaluate vendor performance, resolving quality, delivery, and billing issues effectively.
- Collaborate frequently with the Material Planning Department to ensure timely delivery of vendor products for customer orders.
- Act as a liaison between vendors and company engineers on new product design and material selection to achieve mutual goals.
- Support Lean Initiatives by participating in training and events to enhance productivity and process improvement within the department or cross-functional areas.
- High School Diploma required; Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of experience in a Supply Chain or Purchasing role.
- Strong research and vendor evaluation skills with expertise in negotiating pricing, agreements, and contracts.
- Highly analytical with the ability to make timely and effective decisions.
- Knowledge of supply chain best practices.
- Proficiency with PC/Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to learn and work with MRP systems; Oracle ERP experience is a plus.
- Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills within the company and with vendors.
- Superior negotiation skills and the ability to influence decisions.
