Salary Range: $100,000 -125,000 Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm The Resource Recovery Center of Orange County is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to those suffering from Alcohol and Substance Use Disorders. JOB PURPOSE: The Controller is a key position within our Finance department. The position is located in Middletown, NY but may be required to travel to our Hawthorne office once a week. The expectations for the role are to ensure the financial health of the company. The Controller will assist in the accounting and internal reporting of the RRCOOC. This individual will manage the month-end responsibilities of the RRCOOC. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the Finance Department by overseeing staff in daily operations including the daily cash summary, cash projections, cash management, bank relationships, payroll accounting and correspondence from payroll system. Prepare monthly financial statements (B/S, P/L, C/F) and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedules. Prepare monthly account analyses for balance sheet and expense accounts. Prepare bank accounts reconciliation and in a timely manner with attention to unusual items that remain outstanding at the end of month. Responsible for reviewing and approving accounts payable batches, and processing payments. Prepare journal entries, collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information for monthly and year-end closing. Prepares reconciliations and schedules for the annual audit. Assist in the preparation of annual budget, forecasts and variance analyses. Work closely with department heads to identify areas to reduce costs and liabilities they need to pay off by end of the year. Manage critical elements of monthly closings. Assists in working with internal and external auditors during annual and interim audits. Comply with all confidentiality and client rights, standards, and policies. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures Familiarity with financial accounting statements Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process Hands-on experience with accounting software packages like Quick books Advanced MS Excel skills 5 years accounting experience BS degree in Accounting SKILLS: Great interpersonal skills Excellent communications skills Time management Computer skills Problem-solving/trouble shooting skills
