Our engineering department, with 40 years of Armor Engineering Experience, designs products and process to best fit our customer’s needs. Our in-house fabrication capabilities go beyond state-of-the-art CNC, laser cutting, high definition CNC Plasma and CNC Presses & Milling. Our ASE certified paint and body shop, mechanical and electrical department assure you that your vehicle is always under the best care paying attention to quality and sound procedures.
Joining our Engineering Team in a dynamic working environment will help us support our customers in developing technical drawings using applicable military and industry standards.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Review Engineering Drawings and other Technical documentation for compliance with applicable standards to include ASME-Y14.5, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.34, MIL-STD-31000B and MIL-STD-973.
2. Document welding and design processes, on engineering drawings, using D1.1 Structural Welding Code and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
3. Modify existing engineering designs to improve manufacturability and efficiency.
4. Design new products and solutions on new and existing vehicles platforms.
5. Document in-house analyses and data required to show compliance with Square One and Customer requirements.
6. Participate in the resolution of technical, operational, and quality issues that cannot be resolved by internal or external customer.
7. Help with the development of Work Instruction for engineering as well as production process.
8. Develop and/or update technical drawings using SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
9. Develop and update military technical drawings using applicable military and industry standards.
10. Develop 3D model files from 2D documentation and/or actual equipment.
11. Produce accurate and compliant 2D documentation from 3D model files.
12. Communicate with customers and co-workers to resolve ongoing issues.
Qualifications to be successful in this role include, but are not limited to:
1. Five years of mechanical design experience required
2. Experience using SolidWorks and some AutoCAD is required.
3. At least 3 years of SolidWorks experience in mechanical application.
4. Experience using MS office is required.
5. Familiar with military and industry standards to include ASME-Y14.5, ASME Y14.24, ASME Y14.34, MIL-STD-31000B, MIL-STD-973, and D1.1 Structural Welding Code.
6. Must be a Permanent US resident or US citizen.
7. Able to speak Spanish is a plus.
8. Able to work in a team environment.
9. Self-paced and self-motivated.
10. Able to obtain security clearance is a plus.
