Director of Accounting
Our client is a leading provider of national and international commercial real estate services and they are looking to hire a Director of Accounting. The Director of Accounting will be instrumental in day-to-day operations, enhancing the structure, controls, and integrity of the financial activities.
This Director of Accounting will oversee the accounting functions for the flagship funds and various co-investment funds. Additionally, the Director of Accounting will manage external audits and supervise a team of Accountants, working closely with the General Partners and the Investor Relations team.
Responsibilities
- Supervising day-to-day accounting and Limited Partner reporting for funds and General Partner entities.
- Reviewing books and records, capital activities, and Limited Partner allocations.
- Managing, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc Limited Partner reporting.
- Administering capital calls and distributions.
- Overseeing waterfall models and performance reporting.
- Coordinating with fund administrators for outsourced funds.
- Leading the annual private equity funds audit process.
- Reviewing fund valuations on a quarterly basis.
- Coordinating with various third-party service providers, including legal services, consulting services, banks, and accounting services.
- Liaising with the internal tax team.
- Ensuring compliance with SEC regulations.
- Managing quarterly financial closings.
- Collaborating with the Investor Relations team on Limited Partner materials and Private Equity track record.
Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate, Property Accounting, Joint Ventures, and Real Estate Fund Accounting.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting required. Masters in Accounting and CPA preferred.
- Knowledgeable in private equity fund financial operations.
- Knowledgeable in GAAP and partnership accounting.
- Supervisory experience.
