Under the direction of the Tribal Council, the incumbent performs complex level professional internal audit work including leading and conducting compliance, operational, financial and strategic audit work of considerable difficulty for the MPTN Government, its enterprises, investments and programs. Present audit results to the Tribal Council. Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and a certified public accountant or certified internal auditor. A master's degree is preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years related work experience with progressively responsible audit leadership roles required, experience in public firms preferred. A Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor. Must possess knowledge and understanding of policies, systems and internal controls. Experience with Native American governments and/or the gaming industry preferred. Experience in large, complex and culturally diverse organizations as well as governmental entities would be particularly desirable. Incumbent must demonstrate excellent communication skills at all levels of the organization. The Director must possess the ability to effectively interface with Tribal Council, the Tribal Audit Authority, External Auditors and all levels of Management. Travel may be required. Valid driver's license and personal transportation are required. Although we have designated this position as a "key" position pursuant to the Tribal and Native American Preference Law, we encourage qualified Tribal members and other preference eligible individuals to apply.
