Payroll specialist needed to help support the payroll functions of a building materials organization with 2000 employees union and non-union.
Will be responsible for full cycle payroll operations processing payroll weekly, bi-weekly, salaried and hourly employees using Ceridian reporting directly to the Payroll Manager.
Job Duties:

• Entering hours and analyzing the time-keeping system
• Auditing payroll prior to submission for funding
• Reconciling against the GL
• Correcting and manually processing off-cycle payroll related issues
• Working closely with HR for on-boarding, new hires, terminations and salary adjustments
• Processing W2's and correcting payroll changes for year end
• Responding and working closely with Branch locations to resolve payroll related matters and responding to emails within a timely manner

Job Requirements:

• Degree in accounting, business, or a related field may be preferred
• Minimum of 5 years' experience working in payroll or a similar role
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices
• Experience working with accounting and payroll software, preferably Ceridian
• Advanced Excel skills, ability to meet deadlines
